Marina da Gama is a waters edge residential area off Zandvlei, home to a sailing club that hosts the
Dragon Boat Regatta, and a picnic area that is the venue for the
International Kite Festival (October). The area is popular for canoeing on the vlei and enjoying the area around the Zandvlei Estuary Nature Reserve.
On the coast, Muizenberg has the laid back surfer's beach with Restaurants, supertube, putt-putt course and the long sandy stretch of Sunrise Beach that is popular with local anglers.
