Noordhoek and Kommetjie on Cape Town's Atlantic Peninsula, are famous for the 8km Long Beach that links the two areas - ideal for walking, horse riding and popular surfing spots. Noordhoek (north corner) is essentially a rural area with a focus on horse riding. It also has popular cafés, restaurants and art galleries. Kommetjie, Cape Town, is named after 'Die Kom' basin, with its natural small harbour and slipway. The Slangkop Lighthouse is the highest cast-iron lighthouse on the South Africa coast.
