The West coast wild flowers at Post Berg Nature Reserve, Tienie Versveld Flora Reserve, and the Darling Wild Flower Show are annual attractions in early Spring. The flower region stretches to the coast at the Cape Columbine nature reserve and on to St. Helena bay past Velddrif.
There are many mountain bike events along the west coast, and the Berg River Canoe Marathon in July. In October, don't miss the Afrikaans Music Rittelfees in Vredendal
