From its humble beginnings in the 1970’s, the Cycle Tour has become one of the most popular mass participation sporting events globally and is a permanent fixture on the calendars of professional and recreational cyclists worldwide. Even actor Matt Damon and the most famous cyclist on earth, Lance Armstrong, have tackled the 110km route.
All funds raised by the Cycle Tour are distributed between its two beneficiaries,
the Pedal Power Association (PPA) and the
Rotary Club of Claremont.
