Grape Escape is our new 3-day MTB stage race between
Durbanville, Cape Town and
Stellenbosch.
Date: 1 March 2012 – 3 March 2012 Registration opens in November 2012
Distance: 74km (stage 1); 68km (stage 2) and 66km (stage 3)
Venue: Durbanville Racecourse, Diemersfontein, Wellington and Boschendal Wine Estate, Stellenbosch
Organised by the
Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust,
the Grape Escape is a thrilling new addition to South Africa’s annual MTB calendar.
Limited to only 750 riders, the route was designed by MTB trail guru, Meurant Botha: “The aim was to create a flowing, achievable route for this 3-day stage race which would incorporate the best features that the diverse terrain options present.”
The
entry categories are: Solo, 2-rider Teams & 4-rider Teams.
It is not a full service stage race, although camping sites will be available at Boschendal Wine Estate, with a shuttle running to and from the start and finish venues.
