Township Tour This international award winning socially responsible Bicycle Tour in Masiphumelele is a Fair Trade on township tours, providing guests the opportunity to meet and interact with the local community from a bicycle seat. In conjunction with the Bicycling Empowerment Network (BEN), a non-profit organisation that facilitates the importation of discarded second-hand bicycles to South Africa, we assist members of the local community to start their own businesses. A local qualified guide will escort guests around the township, visiting interesting places and explaining Xhosa customs. A highlight of the tour is traditional dancing by the Sangoma and a visit to the local preschool. Enjoy lunch in an African home and taste of authentic African cuisine. HALF or FULL DAY

conditions. Your surf instructor will meet you at the beach at a pre-arranged time. We use the
Surfing South Africa accredited ABC Surf Lesson to ensure that your introduction to surfing is fun and safe. Your instructor will be with you in the water at all times. Surf lessons include basic skills such as judging waves, rips and currents as well as general water safety. HALF or FULL DAY
Cape Malay Cooking Safari Visitors get to know aspects of the cultural diversity that Cape Town has to offer on our interactive guided walk through the historical heart of the Bo-Kaap. Our focus lies on the Cape Malay people with the South-East Asian heritage, culture, community and food. The mini shopping safari, which includes a visit to a local spice shop and halaal butcher offers opportunities to interact with locals and to discover typical ingredients, (subject to opening hours). The highlight is to visit a local family home and participate in a hands-on, fun-filled cooking session & demonstration before savouring a full traditional lunch! Robben Island with Lionel DavisGuests will be met at the Robben Island Gateway by Lionel Davis, an artist who spent four years
(from 1967 – 1971) on Robben Island as a political prisoner. He will accompany guests around the jail on the standard tour, enhancing the Robben Island tour experience. Lionel was prisoner #366-64 – in the same block as the most well-known Robben Island prisoner - #466-64! The three and a half hour tour includes a return trip across Table Bay, a visit to the maximum security prison, interaction with an ex-political prisoners and a 45 minute bus tour with a guide providing commentary. The ferry returns to the V&A waterfront . HALF DAY
Penguin Sea Kayaking in SimonstownOne of the most unique places in the world - a penguin colony in suburban Cape Town! And the best way to see them is from the water. We leave from Simonstown Waterfront and paddle past the civilian and Naval Harbour and out to Boulder's Beach. After visiting the penguins we stop on a lovely semi-private beach for refreshments, swimming and snorkelling (we provide the snorkels and bottled drinking water.) Our double kayaks are very stable and perfect for those with no paddling experience. 2 HOURS
Shark diving in GansbaaiAt 5am a shuttle vehicle will collect guests at the hotel and depart on a two hour journey out to
Gansbaai which is situated approximately 180km south east of Cape Town. At 7am guests are
invited to have breakfast at the “White Shark Lodge”. The boat captain will do an educational
presentation about the sharks and safety briefing. The anchor is lowered, the cage goes into the water, a scent trail is made, and we settle down. Final preparations for the diving are made, and the rest of the day is spent watching, diving and enjoying refreshments onboard. Diving equipment and towels, toilet facilities are provided. The boat trip normally lasts for 3-4 hours and then guests are returned to the White Shark Lodge for tea and scones before departing on the 2 hour drive back to Cape Town. FULL DAY
All tours include transport in an air-conditioned vehicle with a registered South African tour guide, entrance fees, equipment and gourmet picnic style lunch. Prices for private tours vary from R850 to R1500 per person per day, (min 2 and max 5 guests) and are all inclusive.
