On the back of their capacity show at the venue last year, Mango Groove and
the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are delighted to announce that Mango
Groove will be performing at Kirstenbosch on the 1st of January 2012. In the
words of Claire Johnston: ''It will be such an honour to celebrate the first
day of the New Year in such a spectacular setting. We were so blown away by
the turnout and response when we last performed at Kirstenbosch, that when
the opportunity arose again, it made absolute sense to kick off the year in
what has to be one of the most beautiful venues in the world. Its beauty
aside, it is such a wonderful family venue, and it meant so much to us to
see so many thousands people of all ages singing along with us.''
The show itself will be very much a ''Greatest Hits'' concert, and it will
be celebrating three very significant releases in what has been a really
busy year for Mango Groove:
- The 2011 ''Mango Groove Live in Concert'' DVD.
- The brand new ''Shh: Have You Heard? Mango Groove: The Ultimate
Collection''. This is truly the ultimate Mango Groove collection from 1989 right through to their most recent album ''Bang the Drum''
- The brand new ''Shh: Have You Heard? Mango Groove: The Ultimate Collection Limited Edition''.
- As much as the show will be a culmination of a great year for the group, it will also herald in what will be a milestone year for Mango Groove:
- Pre-Production on an all new Mango Groove album.
- A major national tour of South Africa,
Celebrate the first day of 2012 with Mango Groove: live at Kirstenbosch, on
the 1st of January. What better way to ease into the new year than with an
afternoon of non-stop Mango Groove hits spanning 25-years. Picnic, music,
celebration, fun!
