The Darling Music Experience, was enthusiastically brought to being in 2006 by Alfred Legner, a London banker who moved to Darling, with conductor David Tidboald, and composer Hendrik Hofmeyr. The aim is to organise small concerts in a rural setting for both lovers of classical and popular music.
The venues are scattered around quaint Darling village from the Ormonde wine estate to the lovely old Presbyterian church. As performances are during both day and evening, the local Darling cuisine and wines from local estates enhance the community experience.
To quote from the Darling Music Experience organisers: 'Our idea is to freshen the image of classical music and increase its accessibility to all sectors of the West Coast, Cape Town and beyond and to celebrate the good things in life'.

Season Tickets for all concerts are available at R 700 (includes two lunches with wine).
Profits from ticket sales and all
donations will go to the music education initiative DARLING MUSIC FOR ALL / DARLING MUSIEK VIR ALMAL for music tuition, the purchase of instruments and the funding of scholarships.
