4 - 9 August, 2011, Onrus, Sandbaai, Hermanus, Overberg .
The Calf, now the greatest Drama Festival of the Overstrand/ Overberg region (and part of Women's Day weekend festivities) is an important item on the country's live performance calendar. Liven up your

Onrus or Hermanus to attend performances of a stunning line-up of artists - some of whom have excelled at the Karoo festival, KKNK, earlier this year.
The opening on Thursday 4 August will be something special. Besides a delicious 3-course menu by Warwick's Chef School, entertainment (
program subject to change) will be provided by the energetic and dynamic music duo, Eclipse. This sexy duo, Lizelle le Roux and Emrie de Wit, seduce, soothe and satisfy the ear and eye. These two, with their distinctive sounds of cello and violin, renew popular Afrikaans songs in a 'boeremusiek' style. Both are graduates of UP, and after four years in the market with 4 CD's, Eclipse is a success story without time - 'We make music for the sheer enjoyment!'

- Nominations are invited for the Overberg Woman of the Year Award on 9 August as part of Hermanus Times Kalfiefees and the Women's Day breakfast

- Schools and learners can sign up their bands for the big 'MetaalKabaal' on Friday, August 5th. Band entrants, with learners between 12-18 years, can play for 30 - 40 minutes and audition for the best Afrikaans song.
The Festival in Onrus takes place in halls decorated and designed, with transport,
accommodation and meals arranged - last year more than thirty productions performed in four days.
