Spiral and Helix cottages are set in a rambling private and secluded indigenous garden that is a haven for wildlife and birds, with over 50 species identified on site, making it easy to imagine oneself in a nature reserve. The tranquil, spacious and restful garden setting and the seamless interior exterior flows have proven popular with both locals and visitors from afar. Located halfway between the city and Cape Point, Ekogaia Farm Cottages provide the ideal base from which to explore the delights of Cape Town metropole. Ekogaia Farm Cottages are designed to be both visitor and environmentally friendly. They have solar heating so the water will always be hot while the cottages have active and passive natural heating and cooling, so are always comfortable. Lighting is by CFL and LED bulbs. Facilities: Each of our cottages comes with all your requirements for a stress free stay. We provide your linen, towels, all your cooking requirements, comfy spaces to relax, as well as the little necessities like ground pepper and salt, herbs, proper coffee, tea, rusks, and a fruit bowl on arrival. The cottages are fitted to the highest standards with all self catering needs. Each cottage has its own bathroom. Our star beds enable you to be lulled to sleep under the African stars if you wish. There is a wide variety of wildlife from porcupine to mongoose while the many resident birds make this a real birders haven. Spiral cottage can comfortably sleep six while the cosy Helix cottage sleeps up to five. Both cottages are double volume with reed ceilings, echoing traditional Cape architecture. The attention to detail is evident everywhere in this stunning accommodation. |
