About Grange Cottages - self catering accommodation on Grangehurst Wine Estate, Stellenbosch:
Nestled on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, Grange Cottages offer the ideal base for visitors wanting to enjoy the Cape Winelands, the False Bay coastline and surrounding mountains.
Grange self catering cottages are part of a specialist red wine estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Although specialising in red wine, we also produce a dry rosé. Established in 1992 by winemaker Jeremy Walker.
Our winery is situated on the slopes of the Helderberg ('Clear Mountain') mid-way between Stellenbosch and the False Bay coastline. Apart from the magnificent views of our local mountains (Helderberg, Stellenbosch Mountain and Simonsberg) we also enjoy panoramic views of Cape Town, the Table Mountain Range, Cape Point and False Bay.
The smaller cottage has
- an open plan lounge/living area and bedroom with optional twin beds or a double bed. The living area leads onto a large verandah where guests can enjoy the views of vineyards, hills and majestic mountains;
- kitchen/dining area is well equipped;
- the bathroom has a a walk-in shower and separate bath.
The larger cottage comprises
- a fully equipped kitchen;
- large open plan lounge/dining area with a fireplace;
- for outdoor entertainment there is a choice of an undercover verandah and a small leafy garden area or an open verandah with amazing views across Cape Town and False Bay.
- Both cottages have satellite TV.
- All the floors have underfloor heating ensuring comfort during the winter months.
- Access to a large swimming pool.

We look forward to welcoming you to our cellar site on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, Stellenbosch, South Africa. View our winemaking techniques at Grangehurst - besides a small quantity of rosé, we only make red wines and are able to make use of the traditional methods of winemaking such as fermentation in open vats (kuipe), punching of the skins with wooden paddles (pigeage) and pressing the skins in wooden basket presses.
Relax in the tranquil environment of the cottages and discuss the wonderful variety of local wines with resident winemaker Jeremy Walker.
