About Kuifkopvisvanger, Velddrif - with 2 Star grading with the Tourism Grading Council:
Taking it's name from the Malachite Kingfisher, Kuifkopvisvanger offers self catering cottages and camping.
Experience the peaceful farm on the banks of the Berg river and indulge in a canoe ride as you try and spot as many as 180 different species of birds living on the marshlands or try and catch the next big fish.
You are welcome to hire one of the canoes and just paddle on the Berg River, or do some bird watching. We also offer pre-arranged boat trips.
On the farm you can walk all along the rivers edge, or use one of the bicycles and cycle the farm.

Facilities:
7 well equipped self catering cottages on the river bank:
- Our cottages have all the kitchen equipment needed for a week or two - Microwave, Kettle, Sunlight liquid, etc.
- Bedrooms (twin or double) have crisp white percale bedding on the beds, with extra blankets to snuggle up during the winter.
- Bath towels are provided.
- The cottages are all supplied with fans in summer, and fan heaters in winter.
- With a built in fireplace, inside as well as outside, you need no more to enjoy your stay with us. Fire wood can be bought on the farm.
Apart from self catering cottages we also offer camping sites with power and full ablution facilities on the grass under the trees . Step out of your tent onto the the banks of the Berg River - perfect for corporate team building where we supply the venue. |

Nearby Attractions: Kuifkopvisvanger is central to many surrounding facilities:
- 20 mins from Club Mykonos and Casino, and a Horse riding centre;
- Close to the Beach and water sports on the Berg River;
- Enjoy Golf, Shopping, and a leisurely walk around the Bokkom Industries, Fish Museum, and Salt factory;
- Fishing, Whale watching;
- West Coast National Park, Cape Columbine, Rocher Pan, West Coast Fossil site;
- drive to surrounding towns within 1h drive from Velddrif: Saldanha, Paternoster, Jakobsbaai, Langebaan, Dwarskersbos, Elandsbaai for the West Coast flower carpet show during August and September;
- Watch the paddlers as the world famous Berg River Canoe Marathon ends at the Carinus bridge of Velddrif (last weekend of the July winter holidays).
