| About Oryx House self catering holiday accommodation on the Breede River, Route 62.
Oryx House is an ideal holiday house for relaxed family entertainment and can sleep up to 12 people, and is situated on the working farm Langverwacht 30km from Worcester, only 1 hour 45min from Cape Town.
This private getaway offers nature lovers a peaceful haven to unwind. It nestles between Gemsbok Kop and the magnificent Breede River at the end of the Scherpenheuwel Valley.
Surrounded by vines, fruit trees, olive groves, undulating mountains and the gently flowing Breede River, the rhythm of life slows down. The peace and quite of nature is happily disturbed by the familiar cry of the resident fish eagles and the chattering of a variety of kingfishers feeding in the riverbed. |

Two accommodation units include
- Main house with 3 bedrooms: Double room with queen bed and en-suite, Double room with twin beds; and room with 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4)
- Separate apartment outside with 2 bedrooms with twin beds, and Bathroom with shower;
kitchenette with tea corner and bar fridge;
Shady stoep area
From the main house, the open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge lead out onto a stoep and country garden, which is fenced to allow children and pets to roam freely. Fireplaces in the lounge and the kitchen will warm up those winter's evenings.
There is a TV nook (bring your own DSTV card) and music system with DVD player. The 2 bathrooms are large with bath tubs and showers.
A rolling grass bank from the front stoep leads to your private river frontage. Here under the shade of a boma with braai area and Indian canoes, your days can be filled fishing, swimming, canoeing or simply relaxing. For the more energetic there are interesting koppies to climb behind the house with a wide variety of plants. |

Nearby Attractions : In spring the veld explodes with carpets of colour as the succulents come into bloom. Mountain bikers and cyclists can safely enjoy their sport on the many quiet country roads, opening up new routes to explore while enjoying the stunning scenery of the Boland.
